To light a flame

Your story inspired
It helped to sway
Those who are tired
A compliment can travel
Worlds and worlds away
Cause hearts to unravel
Help others to better pray
So don't be spare
With a little praise

Retelling my story did
Cause others to grow
Stopped one person's skid
Gave them a new glow
Do as I did and speak
Of your personal growth
A day that looked bleak
Flipped to joy, bliss, or both!

Nothing to lose, I swear
We all need the odd high
To improve our prayer

For what you might teach us
By giving us a chance
To improve and be more religious
Improving religion is great
But don't let that be a limit

Goes blank as the page
Is this a sign

I have what to share
But nothing is coming
It feels so sad
When I feel myself dumbing
And then I remember
How someone inspired me
How their words
Gave me a shining clarity
Before long
The page is full
It didn't take more
Than a strong pull
Inspiration is like
Striking a match
And it creates an itch
That we have to scratch
It can ripple in the water
And spread for miles around
It won't stop circling
Until its message is abound
Thank you for reminding me
That inspiration is treasure
And we should use it always
With joy and with pleasure
